Manitoba Census Data Consortium
The Manitoba Census Data Consortium, coordinated by the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg, coordinates the purchase and dissemination of custom Census Data in Manitoba through the national Community Data Program, an initiative of the Canadian Council on Social Development. The Community Data Program is a membership-based community development initiative open to any Canadian public, non-profit or community sector organization with a local service delivery or public policy mandate.
The Manitoba Census Data Consortium has membership from a wide range of organizations including the City of Winnipeg, the Government of Manitoba (multiple departments), the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, Cancer Care Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
A number of the census data sets acquired by the Manitoba Census Data Consortium cannot be distributed directly to the public or to other stake-holders (because of copyright restrictions), but can be shared among paying consortium members. The "Private Access" section of this web-page is password protected to consortium members to facilitate the sharing of restricted data.
