Who Developed and Owns the Manitoba Community Data Portal?
The Manitoba Collaborative Data Portal (MbCDP) is a collaborative community data project coordinated and hosted by the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg (SPCW). It is organized using a Collective Impact approach, with the SPCW acting as the back-bone organization. See the About the MBCDP page for more information
why was the Manitoba Community data Portal Developed?
The impetus behind the development of the MbCDP was that there is no one place where organizations and agencies could easily and inexpensively find the wide range of detailed neighborhood and local-level information they require to support their programs and engage the public.
How Can I stay up to date with new portal developments as these are implemented?
To stay up to date on portal developments you should regularly check for blog updates on our Blog page and sign up to receive updates on via the Stay Connected page.
IS THERE ANY cHARGE for USING THE mANITOBA cOLLABORATIVE dATA pORTAL?
No, there is no charge for accessing the data within the MbCDP.
I see errors or problems with the data on the portal. How can i request that these be corrected?

i can't figure out how to use the data tools on the portal. Where do I get help and assistance?
We do not have any resources dedicated to provide help or assistance to end-users. We would suggest that you try to help yourself by exploring the User Manuals and Instructional Videos that are available. If all else fails, you can Contact Us, but we cannot guarantee that we will get back to you promptly (although we would like to).
aRE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON USING THE DATA ON THE PORTAL?
No, there are no restrictions on using the data from the portal. All information published through the portal is in the public domain.
How do I know where the data in the portal comes from and is credible
We have attempted to rigorously document our data sources. All layers published through out interactive maps are described in detail in the on-line Data Dictionary.
How do I reference the data i pull out of the data portal?
We would appreciate if the data extracted from the Portal is referenced by both the original core data source as well as the MbCDP. For example, if you produced a map of the Median Household Income for Winnipeg, the reference for this would be: 2016 Canadian Census, Manitoba Collaborative Data Portal (www.mbcdp.ca)
